Miles Media worked with EDGE Outdoors, a trailblazing non-profit organization aimed at redefining snow sports by promoting diversity and inclusivity. EDGE Oudoors is dedicated to breaking barriers and ensuring BIWOC individuals thrive on the slopes. Miles Media collaborated with EDGE Outdoors to create impactful images, capturing the spirit of their mission to be shared across various platforms, and fostering representation and empowerment in the snow sports community.

Community & Connection: Shooting with Edge Outdoors

Capturing the work of Edge Outdoors was a project that truly filled my heart. As a creator, I’ve always believed that the most powerful stories are the ones that drive real change, and there is nothing more vital than opening up the mountain to everyone.

Edge Outdoors is doing the heavy lifting to ensure that Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color don't just have a seat at the table, but a place on the hill. For too long, the outdoor industry and mountain sports have felt exclusive to one demographic. Seeing this organization break those barriers by providing mentorship and access is something I am 100% proud to back.

Snowboarding is incredibly close to my heart, but what’s even more important to me is the idea that the "mountain life" belongs to everyone, regardless of race or background. Having been raised with a deep respect for the strength and leadership of women, it’s an honor to use my time and my lens to support a program that empowers them to take up space in the industry.

For me, this wasn’t just another shoot—it was about being part of a community. I believe everyone should have the right to experience the outdoors and feel that sense of belonging on the snow. I’m stoked to continue putting my energy toward programs like this that are making the outdoors a more inclusive space for all.

The Bigger Picture

At the end of the day, these photos are about more than just a moment on the mountain; they are about visibility. When we see diverse faces in the outdoors, it shifts the narrative of who belongs there. My goal with this gallery was to capture the joy, the grit, and the community that Edge Outdoors fosters every single day.

I’m committed to using my platform to amplify voices that are diversifying the spaces I love. If you have the means, I highly encourage you to check out their mission, get involved, or donate to help get more women of color on the snow.

Let’s keep breaking trail together.
